In Chile there are around 1,251,225 immigrants. This figure is only one number behind the multiple social problems that immigration brings. According to statistics, foreigners suffer from strong discrimination by Chileans, for example, most of them suffer from labor exploitation, poor working conditions, abuse in the price of room leases and high rates of overcrowding. There seems to be still a high rate of racism in Chilean society towards people who come to our country only looking for better life opportunities. However, this problem is structural and it is in the hands of this generation to eradicate racism from our culture.
